location: Pingtung City, Taiwan date: January 2014
I know little about the history of this house but find it fascinating. Although Japanese architecture is common in Pingtung City, this particular house is unusual. Single family Japanese houses are typically constructed of brick and cypress wood with pitched roofs covered in black tiles. Sadly, many of these structures have also deteriorated beyond repair.
